Synergy Sessions: sessions aiming to push the boundaries of the improvisation scene in The Hague.
Het Koorenhuis, ProJazz and the Royal Conservatoire are coming together to bring you a new format, welcoming artists from different disciplines and art forms to widen the view of what improvised creation can look and sound like.
We invite everyone from any artistic discipline and an experience to join us!
In collaboration with Haagse Popweek, we open the night on stage with the fantastic MC Yaëll Campbell and a duo from the Royal Conservatoire in de Gekke Geit, followed by a session, where we welcome everyone who would like to play, sing or rap on smooth beats.
Yaëll Campbell is a young artist whose music cannot be classified under one genre. Hiphop, spoken word, acoustic guitar songs, house tunes, rap… it all comes along. The artist started with music at a young age and learned a lot during workshops from big artists like Akwasi, Shirma Rouse and Trijntje Oosterhuis and among others. He wrote his first song when he was thirteen, together with Alain Clark. He participated in the final of Talent Event in het Paard in 2016 and he performed at events in Brussels (BE), Cologne (DE) and San Francisco (US). However varied Yaëll’s songs are, his voice and personal lyrics provide a sound that you can recognize from miles away: he keeps it close to his own.
